EARNESTINE CARTER REED

Earnestine Carter Reed departed this life at her residence on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the age of 77. She was a native and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of Larry G. Reed. Devoted mother of Clarence, Giselle, Maurice, Calvin, and Chamika Holmes, and the late Willie Deric Holmes. Daughter of the late Willie Carter and Earnestine Pierre Carter. Granddaughter of the late William and Odile Mosley Carter. Sister of Ruby Mae Carter, Emily Anderson, and the late Benjamin Fisher, Jr., Noel Carter, Willie Carter, and Dorothy Carter Anderson, also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church, Second Baptist Church, Sixth Baptist Church, Second Nazarene Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Best Care Provider Services, Harmony Hospice, Compassus Hospice,  Dry Dock Cafe, Bayona Restaurant, Frank’s Restaurant, and faculty and staff of Woodmere Elementary are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
