DORIS WILLIAMS VAUGHN

Doris Williams Roy Vaughn transitioned from her earthly body on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 85. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Harvey, LA. Doris was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School, and she was employed with Charity Hospital as a surgical nurse aide for over 22 years. Doris enjoyed dancing, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family. Beloved wife of Robert James Vaughn, Jr. Devoted mother of Deborah Jefferson, Portia (Herbert) Williams, Josulan (Ralph) Johnson, Carleen (Andrew) Love, and the late Lee Roy, Jr. Bonus mother of Roxxanne Mitchell, Tara Young, Virgie Vaughn, Paula Vaughn, Vernell (Steve) Miller, Priscille Vaughn, Acquille Vaughn, Thyresia Vaughn, Rickey Vaughn, Sr., Shawan Vaughn, Chris Vaughn, and the late Ronald (Cynthnia) Vaughn, Robert Vaughn, III, and Vanguie Vaughn. Daughter of the late Calvin, Sr. and Leola Williams. Sister of Leola Heno, Shirley Young, Ina Maryland, Harry (Marilyn) Williams, Larry (Ivy) Williams, and the late Calvin Williams, Jr., and Caleb Williams. Mother in law of Verna (Willis) Reed, and Ulet Jordan, also survived by 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, and friends.
