Doris Payton Davis departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the age of 66. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Spring, TX. Doris was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and Phillips Jr. College. She was a retired employee of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Beloved wife of the late Johnnie Lee Davis, Sr. Devoted mother of Charmaine Davis (Lamond Sr.) Payne, Johnnie Lee Davis, Jr., and the late Leroy Davis. Loving grandmother of Jherinique, Brian, Brison, Xevion, Trentvontae, Jo’Barre’, Jo’Niayya’, La’Monjanae, Janay, JaQwanis, and Johnnie III. Great grandmother Khoi, By’Ahir, Shiloh, and the late Xy’Ahir Davis. Daughter of the Pearl Myles and the late Gus Myles, Jr. Sister of Deborah (Pastor Lyons Jr.), Deidra, Felicia, Gus III (Karin), Norman Jr., Rodney Sr. (Michelle), Rene, Norma, and the late Loretta. Doris is also survived by her devoted aunt Leola Christy, devoted friend Lloyd Simmons, Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor; Pastor Usia Lyons, Jr., officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time.
