Doris Louise Core, a homemaker, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 78. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Doris attended St. John Of Arc, Xavier Preparatory High School, and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.  Loving mother of Desiree Edwards, Deidre Core, Lester Core, Jr., and Dione Core. Daughter of the late Ferdinand Cavalier, Jr. and Virginia Cavalier. Sister of Thomas Cavalier, Timothy Cavalier, Delores Alfred, Donna Walker, Anna McKinney, Angelina Cavalier, and the late Ferdinand Cavalier III, Michael Cavalier, Donald, and Ronald Cavalier. Aunt of the late Marvin Cavalier and Ernest Alfred. Sister-in-law of Rev. Charles McKinney, Sr. and Charlotte Cavalier; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Brian Walker, Sr., officiating  Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
