DOLORES D. SMITH

Dolores D. Smith entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Sunday, December 22, 2019. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Dolores was a retired custodian with the Jefferson Parish School System. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Smith. Devoted mother Samuelle, Pat (Tyan), Jackie (Albert), Michael (Vora), Carlin, Darrell, Anthony (Gina), and Antoine Smith,  Alvin (Janice) Clark, and the late Joseph Smith, Jr.;  she also reared Michael D. Smith as her son. Daughter of the late Louis Doptemore, Sr. and Mary Batiste. Granddaughter of the late Louis and Alberta Doptemore.  Sister of Moses, Michael, and  Alarice Doptemore, Mathew and Daniel Smith, and the late Emette, and Louis Doptemore, Jr. and Danuella Hamilton, also survived by 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Salvation  Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral services at Second Salvation Baptist Church 212 Marrero St. Bridge City, LA on Saturday, January 11, 2020  at 11:00a.m. Pastor Charles Crawford officiating.
