DIANE WILKERSON MILES

Diane Wilkerson Miles, age 63, transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Diane was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. She was a floral designer, and a former employee of Jefferson Parish Sewerage and Water Board, and the Jefferson Parish School Board. Diane was the founder of Westwego Strutters. Devoted mother of Arriane Wilkerson and Javon Miles, Sr. Loving grandmother of Shemar Wilkerson, Evarri and Evion Blakes, Javon, Jr., Shane, Jayden and Chardonnay Miles. Daughter of the late Mansfield Wilkerson and Hattie Blackmon. Beloved sister of Rebecca Thomas, Carolyn Thomas, Rosell (Melvin) Taylor, Jacqulyn (Michael) Anderson, David (Bobbie) Blackmon, Sr., Rev. Robert (Patsy) Blackmon, Rev. Larry (Mary) Blackmon, Sr., and the late Eddie Mae Ashley, Janice Favorite, Evelyn Williams, A. C. Blackmon, LC Rogers, Harold Wilkerson, and Julius Thompson. Goddaughter of Bobbie Bobbie Blackmon and the late Eddie Wetherspoon. Godsister of Geraldine Norman and the late Donald Blackmon. Diane is also survived by 8 godchildren, 6 godsisters, 2 godbrothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, offices and members of Touch of Love Ministries COGIC, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited the attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor; Elder Brian Walker, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
