DELORES MARIE HARRISON

Delores Marie Harrison passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 6, 2023, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by her family during this transition. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Houston, TX. Delores was employed at West Jefferson Hospital before moving to Houston, TX where she devoted her time to her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with family, decorating, politics, and BINGO.  Her vibrant spirit and witty personality lit up every room she entered. Beloved wife of the late Dorane Harrison, Jr. and Walter Hudson, Jr. (by first marriage). Loving mother of Walter (Kendel) Hudson III, Ryan (April) Hudson, Angela (Antonio) Thomas, and Donyell (Arthur) Kelly. Cherished grandmother of Kayla (Tyler) Turner, Devynn Matthews, Autumn Thomas, Kaya Hudson, Antonio Thomas, Jr., and Bryce Walter Hudson. Daughter of the late Sullivan Helton, Sr. and Marie Helton. Sister of Barbara Nelson, Shirley Griffin, Sandra (Michael) Holmes, Sybil (Purvis) Bridges, Stephanie (Brockton, Sr.) Tross, Shavonne Helton, Patricia (Christopher) Figaro, Carol (Alfred) McDaniel, Vanessa Williams, Sullivan (Cynthia) Helton, Jr., Malbert (Vanita) Helton, Sr., Allen (Shawn) Flot, Anthony Dixon, George Flot, Michael Bazile, Eric (Toya) Bazile, and the late Darlene Florence, Donald “Brother” Strawder, and Sullivan Dixon. Sister-in-law of Lionel Florence, Sr., John and Robert (Lorie) Harrison, Troy (Rhonda) Thornton, and Eleanor Thornton. Godmother of the late Kimberly Range. Lifelong best friend of Bernadette “Bunny” Gabriel; also survived by a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
