Debra Carey passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the age of 67. She was native of New Orleans, LA and longtime resident of Marrero, LA. She was a graduate of the McKinley Senior High School Class of 1972 in Baton Rouge, LA. Debra was a Licensed Cosmetologist and retired as a Youth Mental Health Specialist with the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Beloved wife of the late Albert Carey. Devoted mother of LaMonica Carey-Brown (Zora) and Dexter Carey. Grandmother of Ava Brown and Maya Henry. Daughter of the late Joseph Daisy and Frances Hutcherson Daisy. Granddaughter of the late Emile Hutcherson, Sr. and Saverine Avist Hutcherson, Augustin Daisy and Marcellina Modeliste Daisy. Sister of Nathaniel G. (Rochelle) Daisy, Ambrose (Jacqueline) Daisy, Leon F. (Lavera) Daisy, and the late Joann Daisy, Joseph N. Daisy, Larry Daisy, and Gerald Daisy. Sister in law Bertha (Jesse) King, Shirley Sims, Edith Fry, Leon J. (Marjorie) Carey, John (Rebecca) Carey, and the late Audrey Carey Taylor, Mary Carey, Michael Carey, and her dog Chyna Renee. Debra is survived by her Dog Papa and Grand Dog Mr. Bentley, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives. and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time; Recitation of Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
