DARREL A. JOHNSON, SR.

Darrel A. Johnson, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 80. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Darrel was a retired employee with H C Price as a laborer for over 20 years. Beloved husband of 65 years to Willie Mae Johnson. Loving father of Darrel A. (Wanda) Johnson, Jr., and the late Kevin Johnson, and Grace Brooks. Father in love of Damion (Telymeka) Morris, and the late D. Morris. Son of the late Edward Johnson and Ida Mae Johnson. Brother of Edward (Kathy) Johnson, Jr. and the late Joyce Davis, Ronald, Donald, and Ricky Johnson. Father-in-law of JoAnn Johnson and Glennis Brooks. Son in law of the late Cleveland and Beatrice Matthews. Brother-in-law of Roy (Francis) Matthews, Sr., Cleveland Matthews, Jr., Charles Douglas, Verlia Lewis, Amelia Gail (Willie) Noel, Ida and Evelyn Douglas, also survived by 28 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church, 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating.
