Cubie Doll Charles, a retired Mary Kay Consultant, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the age of 68. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA (Cutoff Community). Cubie was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School and Delgado Community College. She was faithful and active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served with several ministries, including Sunday School/Bible Classes, Prayer and Fasting, Vacation Bible School, and secretary of Church Membership to just name a few. Cubie was also active in her community as President of the Cutoff Playground Booster Club, President of Lower Algiers Civic Association, member of Algiers Neighborhood Association, a member of the Chalmette Refinery Westbank Community Advisory Board and many more civic and community associations. Beloved daughter of the late Hammond Charles, Sr. and Lizzie Mae Henry Charles. Loving sister of Rev. Liroy (Loretta) Charles, Sr., Anthony Charles, Hammond (Scarlette) Charles, Jr., Markey (Della) Charles, Trudy (Campanella, Sr.) Kent, Keith (Brenda) Charles, Sr., Brian (Sheryl) Charles, Roxanne Charles, Precious Charles, and the late Neal and Muchell Charles, Sr. Aunt of the late LaShawn Marie Charles. Nieces of Ernestine Henry (the late Dood II) Johnson, Judy Charles, Clarence “Frogman” Henry, Jr., John “Mickey” Henry, Sr. and Leonard Charles, Sr. Sister-in -law of Janice, Lisa, and Karen Charles. Goddaughter of Vivian Byes. Devoted godmother of Campanella Kent, Jr., Tyler Kaelin Richardson, and Logan Charles Semiean. Special friends of Ferdile St. Cyr and Perry Johnson, Sr. Also left to cherish her memories by 21 nieces/nephews, 20 great nieces/nephews, 4 great nieces/nephews and a host of cousins, friends, church family, and the Cutoff Community. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Asbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2725 Ernest Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 10:00a.m. the service will be live streamed on Facebook Live@ Asbury UMC New Orleans or BestbankNOLA
