Climmos Jackson, Jr. departed this life at Veterans Affairs Hospital on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the age of 81. He was a native of Crown Point, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Climmos served his country as a member of the United States Army and retired after 17 1/2 years of service. He received numerous commendations for his military service, including the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster to just name a few. After retirement from the military Climmos began a career with the United States Postal Service, he retired after over 20 years of employment. He was a member of the Mason Lodge 58 in Arlington, VA, an avid fisherman, and a part of the Negro Baseball League while in the military. Beloved husband of the late Betty Trudeaux Jackson. Loving father of Steven (Jane) Jackson, Jackie Jackson, Brett Jackson, and the late Michael Jackson. Son of the late Climmos Jackson, Sr. and Beulah Jackson. Brother of Angelina Rankins and the late Harold Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Rosemary Barns and Emelda Petty. Special and lifelong friend of Nelson Boudin, Nathan Garell, M.C. Bridges Leon Thompson, Edward Chopin, Earnest Roussell, Kenneth Davis, and Ronnie Jones; also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
