CLEVELAND EDWARD SMITH, SR.

Cleveland Edward Smith, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the age of 73. He was born in New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Cleveland was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School Class of 1966. Beloved husband of 23 years to Barbara Peoples-Smith. Loving father of Lucerne Smith, Cleveland Edward (LaTonya) Smith Jr., Maurice (Kerryiell) Williams, Christopher (Tameka) Williams, Kevin and the late Laura Ann Carraby, and Lisa Aiesha Peoples. Son of the late Edward Smith, Jr.  and Laura Mae Jett. Grandson of the late Frank and Theresa Jett. Brother of Theresa Joan Smith Williams, Billie Jean Smith Brown, Clarisa Susan Smith, Joseph Bernard Evans (Gayle) and Albert James Jett. Uncle of the late Karen Lynn Williams Garnett. Nephew of the late Clarisa B. Young. Godfather of Joann Marie Dean and Alijah Jett, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5^th St.  Gretna, LA on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. T. A. Hodge Pastor officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
