CLARENCE ANTHONY WATKINS

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

CLARENCE ANTHONY WATKINS

Clarence Anthony “Tony” Watkins entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 65. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Clarence graduated from West Jefferson High School and worked many jobs while holding on to his dream of owning 18-wheelers and becoming wealthy beyond imagination. Clarence thought BIG, planned BIG, and talked BIG because he knew that all things are possible to those who believe. Once he believed in a thing, he became dogmatic in his determination to see it through and nothing and no one could move him from his belief. No matter where he was or the situation, he found himself in, he never stopped believing, never stopped declaring, and never stopped devising ways to be financially secure so that he could provide a better life for his family. Tony never let his situation dictate who he was. He held an uncompromising belief that he was both a doctor and an attorney and he made it known in Harvey, Jackson, Zachary, Baker, Baton Rouge, Gretna, and lastly New Orleans, for he proclaimed it and wrote it on every envelope and paper he signed. Loving son of the late Clarence Watkins, and Clara S. Watkins Taylor. Brother of Stanley (Yvonne), Leonard (Gail), Ronald Sr. (Miriam), and Carolyn Watkins, Gwendolyn (Steven, Sr.) Scott, Lorna (Alfred) Thomas, Kimberly W. Dixon, and the late Norman Watkins, Sr., and Fredrick Watkins, Sr. Uncle of the late Alexis Scott Larry, also survived by 8 nephews, 10 nieces, 18 great nephews, 14 great nieces, 1 great-great niece, and a host of other loving relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Calvary International Worship Center, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mount Calvary International Worship Center, 1600 Westwood Drive, Marrero, LA on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Apostle Terry Gullage, officiating.
