Clarence was born April 6, 1961, to the union of the late Alton Cotton and Ruth Cotton-Martin. Clarence entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was a loving and caring son to his mother the late Ruth Martin. “G” or G-Man as he was affectionately known by his family and friends. Clarence was baptized at an early age. He was a member of the Mt. Olive B.C. in Harvey, Louisiana. Clarence was a graduate of West Jefferson High School, Harvey, Louisiana. Clarence was a multi-Sports Athlete. He was a real all-American Player. During his Glory Days no one surpass his trace record at Martin Luther King Park (MLK). Helen Cox or West Jefferson High School. Clarence was employed by Brown and Root Evans Cooperage, Avondale Shipyard and G and C Vacuum Truck Services. Clarence also possesses many hidden talents for example: Shade tree mechanic, a master at sewing leather, and home cook. He enjoyed cooking. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; Alton Cotton and Ruth H. Martin, Stepfather Haille Martin, Grand-parents; Sidney and Viola Hayes, Siblings; Willie J. Cotton, Geraldine “Geri” Broome, and Martin “ Russell-Prince” Hatten, Nephews; Ronald and Donald Johnson, De Angelo and Carl “CJ” Broome, Aunts; Rosetta Manuel, Flora Grace Garrison, Uncles; Rev. Roosevelt Mason, and Leroy Moore. Clarence leaves to cherish his earthly Memories his sisters; Shirley Hayes, Yvonne (Ronald) Gardet, Patrice Hatten, Jerrelyn Martin, Marcy C. Brown, Brothers; Haille (Christine) Martin, Herbert (Kendra) Martin, David (Andrea) Martin of Iowa City, Iowa and a “Special” Brother James Roussell, Aunts; Elder Sadie Mason, and Roberta Moore of Montgomery, Alabama. Uncles; Sidney Hayes, Robert Hayes, Elijah Hayes, and Willie J (Genieve) Hayes and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.Clarence will be Sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 18th, 2021 at 1pm at Restlawn Cemetery located at 3540 US-90 Avondale, Louisiana 70094. Arrangements by Anointed Hands of Houston, TX.
