CHARLES ROBERT TAYLOR

Charles R. Taylor, Sr.  departed this life on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the age of 78. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA. Charles was a graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School and served his country in the United States Army. Charles was a welder by trade. Coach Charles as he was affectionately known by family and friends followed his passion as a little league coach.  Devoted father of Charles R. Taylor, Jr., Yovette Bumpers, Charlotte Washington, Stephen Butler, Chanda Taylor, Robert Moore, Shelita Stamps, and Alonzo Robinson. Grandfather of the late Gerald M. Washington Jr. Son of the late Harold Taylor, Sr., and Deborah Surtain Taylor. Brother of James Taylor, Brian Taylor, and the late Harold Taylor, Jr., also survived by, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family. Relatives and friends of the family, are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.  on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at the parlor.
