CHARLES EVANS

Charles Evans transitioned to his heavenly home at Texas Health Hospital Fort Worth, TX on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the age of 89. He was a native of Gretna, LA, former resident of Marrero, LA, and presently residing in Fort Worth, TX. Charles served his country in the United States Army as a head chef during the Korean War. He was a retired employee with the Jefferson Parish School System as a dedicated school bus driver for 30 plus years and drove cabs for Morrison Black Cab Fleet. Devoted husband of the late Betty Louise Davis Evans. Beloved father of Stephanie Evans Johnson of TX and the late Loretta Jackson. Grandfather of Courtenay Antoine Royal, Cameron Antoine Royal, Shannon Evans-Walker, Patricia Jackson, Christina Jackson, Abraham Jackson and Charles Jackson, Jr. Great-Grandfather of Micha Isaiah Royal and Camiah Aloni Royal. Son of the late William Evans and Erma Cecila Lewis, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, LA on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 8:30a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the above named church.
