CELESTINE CRAIG

Celestine Craig departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the age of 81. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Celestine was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System. She worked in various roles throughout her life, finding purpose in each job she held, no matter what the task was. Celestine was a devoted servant of the Lord, living a life full of faith and resilience. She was a faithful member of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, where she served with the Greeters Ministry. Her love for the Lord was evident in every conversation and in every quiet strength with which she faced life’s challenge. She found peace in scriptures and strength in prayers, her unwavering faith guided her life. Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Maggie Craig. Devoted sister of A. Lena Craig Stewart, Maggie “May” Campbell, and the late Frank Campbell, Eleck Craig, Sarah Craig, and Francis Reagin. Loving aunt of Adrienne Chavez, Nicole C. Lambert, Monica Craig, Michelle Craig, Lisa M. Craig, Andrea Armstrong, Leonard Craig, Jerome E. Craig, Naaman C. Stewart, Carlton Clark, E. Langston, Craig Cook Campbell, and Alexander Collins. Celestine is also survived by a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 8282 I-10 Service Road South, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Fred Luter, Jr., senior pastor. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
