CELESTE BROOKS RUFFIN

Celeste “Mickey” Brooks Ruffin went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 86. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of the late Wilbert Ruffin, Sr. Devoted mother of Shirley, Jerome, and the late Joan, Cheryl, and Wilbert Ruffin, Jr. and a mother to her neighbor children Lois Sanders, Aleta Jones, Percy Baker, and Darryl Darensburg. Grandmother of Tamara, Jevon (Alejandro), Calvin, Camesha, Tanisha, Tashieka, Dominiqueka, Cliff, Akera, Wilbert, III, Vannin and the late Brandon Ruffin. Great grandmother of the late Rasheda Spotville. Daughter of the late Etienne and Sarah Brooks. Sister of the late Willie Etienne, Nathaniel, and Robert Brooks, Mary Crawford, Sarah McKinley, and Elizabeth Brooks, also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Nazarine Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life at Second Nazarine Baptist Church, 3062 Boyd St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Peter L.
