Carlton Reeves

Carlton Reeves, age 76, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He was a native of Jersey City, New Jersey and a resident of Metairie, LA. Carlton was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and was employed with the United States Postal Service in Jersey City, where he retired after 36 years. He later relocated to Atlanta, GA before making Louisiana his home. Devoted father of Gloria (Dennis) Weber of Waggaman, LA, Wendy (Patrick) Atkinson of Jersey City, NJ, Carlette Reeves-Baker of Gretna, LA, Leandria Reeves-Berry of Irvington, NJ, and Carlton (Vanessa) Lofton of Jersey City, NJ. Loving grandfather of Everett, Sellman, Jabarei, Christian, Carlton Jr., Caron, Rafael, Jahire, Lawren, and A’nira. Son of the late William and Cloatee Reeves. Brother of Catherine (Samuel) Mason of Jersey City, NJ, and the late William Jr., Robert, Russell, and Joseph Reeves, Joyce Richardson and Willie Pearl Davis. Brother-in-law of Ronald Richardson of Union, NJ and Opal Reeves of Jersey City, NJ; also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Hermon Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 W, Avondale, LA on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Darold A. Ingram, Jr., officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
