CALVIN JOSEPH THOMPSON

Calvin Joseph Thompson departed this life at University Medical Center on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the age of 37. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Calvin was a 2004 graduate of Frederick A. Douglass High School, where he was a member of the football team. He was employed as a Head Cook with various restaurants in the New Orleans area, but his latest career passion was truck driving.  Loving husband of Breon “Breezy” Lastie. Devoted father of twins Amari and Armani Thompson. Beloved son of Denetrice Thompson, Anthony Earl, and the late Calvin Fortune. Grandson of Velma Thompson and the late Lucious Thompson, Ernest and Helen Earl. Brother of Dominique Thompson, Dequila Thompson, Dianisha Washington, and the late Courtney Thompson. Uncle of Darren, David, Cayden, Lakerrinique, Maria, Olivia, and Naiya. Son-in-law of David and Karen Lastie. Calvin is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Ernest Weber of Praise Community Church, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
