CALVIN LEON COOPER, SR.

Calvin Leon Cooper entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the age of 81. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Calvin was employed a retired carpenter with the maintenance department with Ochsner Medical Center. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Cooper. Devoted father of Christopher Cooper, Joseph Franklin, Gerald Franklin, Barbara Franklin, Calvin Cooper, Jr., Gray Cooper, Gregory Cooper, and the late Maxine Franklin, and Elaine Lawson. Son of the late Joseph Cooper, Sr. and Ophelia Cooper. Brother of Willie Cooper, Ophelia Cooper, and the late Milton, Joseph, Authur, John, Emma, Rosealee, and Mary Louise Cooper, also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
