CALVERT "JUICE" SMITH, JR.

Calvert Henry Smith, Jr. departed this life at his residence on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 56. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Calvert was a 1986 graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School. He was employed as a painter with Bollinger Shipyard. Calvert was a volunteer coach at Kennedy Heights Playground. Beloved husband of Patricia A Franklin. Loving father of Kentrail Ard, Calvin Young, Ernest Francois, Troy Cunningham, Jonathan Franklin, Robert Smith, and Da’Janell Smith. Devoted son of Calvert H. Smith, Sr. and the late Elizabeth S. Smith.  Grandson of the late Mary Smith, Earl Smith, Gladies Smith-Davis, and Howard Smith, Sr.  Brother of Sharon Smith-Tilton and Olga Nicole Smith. Calvert is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
