Betty Lou Saul Broyard was suddenly called home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 75. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Betty was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and continued her studies at Xavier University of Louisiana, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree. After graduating she gained employment with V. A. Hospital in New Orleans, and later with Tulane Hospital, where she worked as a Medical Technologist for many years prior to retiring. As a devout Catholic, and her love for helping others, she actively volunteered and was involved with various ministries at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, including hospitality and helping hands, to just name a few. Betty was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Legions of Mary, where she was recently poised to become the new president. She will always be remembered as a good cook, with a desire and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Beloved wife of 42 years to Michael Broyard, Sr. Loving mother of Keith (Kim) Broyard, Michael (Tawanda) Broyard, Jr., Tara (Wendell) Hammond, Shane Broyard, Randolph (Kimberlee) Broyard, and the late Shawn Broyard. Devoted daughter of the late Eddie J. Saul, Sr. and Marina Steib Saul. Sister of Elward Saul, Mammie Washington, Carol (Donald) Warmington, Marie Denise (Jackie) Walters, Eddie (Lorie) Saul, Jr., Phillip (Lynn) Saul, Fulton Saul, and Anita (Wayne) Turner. Niece of Pierre (Claretta) Steib, Edward (Augustine) Saul, and Emma Narcisse. Also cherishing lasting memories are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and her church family. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow.
