BARBARA DAVIS

Barbara Davis, an educator, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her brother’s residence on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 60. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Barbara was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School, and Southern University at New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She taught for 20 years in Orleans, Chicago, and Jefferson Parish Public School Systems. Beloved daughter of the late Gerladine Banks, Clifton Narcisse, and Scofield Davis. Granddaughter of the late Ollie and Clifton Narcisse, March Banks, and Vera Farrar. Loving sister of Merella Narcisse, Jeanine Jeffers, Anthony Banks, Robert Narcisse, Ron Narcisse, Greg Narcisse, and the late Pearl Banks, Edward Banks, and Damian Schexnayder. Barbara was raised by her devoted aunt Josephine Sparks, with Conrad Smith, Jr., Darren Smith, Sr. and Benjamin Smith, Sr., whom she loved as brothers. Niece of Shirley Collins, Rita Lazard, Margurite Banks, Leonard Banks, and the late Earl “Bobo” and Solomon Farrar, Louis and James Banks. Sister-in-law of D’Andre Narcisse, Belinda Banks, Cherie Narcisse, and Felicia Narcisse; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Caffin Avenue International Seventh Day Adventist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Caffin Avenue International Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1029 Fats Domino Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Timothy Lee, officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:30a.m.-10:45a.m. ONLY at the church.
