Asalee Johnson Baker entered peacefully into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 72. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Asalee attended Lincoln High School and was a former employee of LaQuinta Hotel. Loving mother of Angenette (Torrance), Wellington, Schwanda, and Belvin (Shevelle) Baker. Daughter of the late Samuel White and Matilda Gayle White. Granddaughter of the late Stanford and Aouisie Gayles. Beloved sister of Samuel White, Jr., Joann Davis, Elemento Paige, and the late Evelyn Sears, Pearl Favorite, Margarita Douglas, Irma Rew, and August. Asalee is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Sunrise Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1249 LeBoeuf St. New Orleans, LA on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Dudley Watson, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time.
