ARTHUR PHILLIP EAGLIN, SR.

Arthur “Big Artie” Phillip Eaglin, Sr., age 60, departed this life on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. He was a 1978 graduate of L. B. Landry High School, where he played the bass drum. He also attended Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA.  Arthur played football for the Westbank Buccaneers.  He was employed for many years with Tony Towing Company. Beloved husband of 43 years to Pamela Love Eaglin. Devoted father of Arthur (Lavonda) Eaglin, Christopher (Toccara) Eaglin, Brandon Eaglin and Teira Nickerson. Loving grandfather of Joseph (Angela) Burse IV, Zynarrea Johnson Eaglin, Arthur III, Zion, Zakia, Ja’Kyra, Angel, Kierstan, and Brandon Eaglin, Jr. Son of the late Arthur McGee, Sr. and Eleanor Eaglin. Grandson of the late Mary Guidry and Carrie Taylor. Brother of Arthur (Sharon) McGee, Jr., Andrew (Lischa) Eaglin, Arthurline Eaglin (his twin), and Sherry Williams. Nephew of the late George Page. Son-in-law of Son-in law of the late Helen Love. Brother-in-law of Ella (George) Sanders, Sandra (Richard) Quick, Cindy (Lynell), Delores, Bryant, Eddie and Christopher Love, Andre’ Williams, and the late Irastine Keith, Gilda, Belinda, Robert, Jr. and Donald Love. Godson of the late Irma Mae Brooks. Godbrother of Irma (Worcester, Jr.) Johnson. Arthur is also survived by his dearest friends Susan (Myron) Harrison, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
