ANNA COLE

Anna Lois Childress Cole was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the blessed age of 91. She was a native of Phoenix, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. Anna was a retired customer service associate. “Granny”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends was a remarkable woman and the epitome of strength, courage, and resilience.  Despite her short stature she had a giant personality. She was a committed wife, dedicated mother, loving grandmother, loyal sister, caring aunt, faithful friend, giving neighbor and diligent employee. Devoted wife to the late Arthur F. Cole Sr.   Beloved mother of Linda York-Cole (Maurice), Dyetra Williams (Dennis), Bryan Cole, and the late Arthur Jr., Marion Lee, Aubrey Lee, and Don C. Daughter of the late Seymour Willie Childress and Maggie Jane Wilson.  Preceded in death by 10 siblings, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Baptist Church, Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Hosanna Fellowship, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd Avondale, LA on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Damian Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
