Andrew Watson DeLotte, II, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at his residence, with his daughter by his side. He was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for over 55 years. He was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School. Andrew was a successful self-taught mechanic, who co-owned DeLotte’s Car Shop and Enterprising with his loving wife for many years, before retiring in 2003. As a God-fearing man, Andrew was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Gretna, LA, where he served as a Deacon for many years. Beloved husband of 42 years to the late Willie Mae Coleman-DeLotte. Devoted father of Karen M. D. Washington, Andrea DeLotte (Marlon) Wing, Darrell Lunkin, Andrew (Veronica) Simoneaux, and the late Belinda Jean DeLotte-Favorite. He was also instrumental in the rearing of his nephew Kenneth Foucher, whom he loved as a son. Loving grandfather of Andrew III, Reynaldo, Jr., Arieal, Dajon’, Ash’ton, Reshad, Darrel, Marques, and Khail. Son of the late Andrew DeLotte, Sr. and Olivia Landry-Delotte. Brother of the late Bernice D. Copes, Gloria Dean D. Johnson, and Samuel DeLotte. Son-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coleman. Brother-in-law of Joseph Simmons, and the late Royal, Frank, Edward, Robert, Louis, and James Coleman, Janice C. Foucher, Gladys C. Simmons, and Susie C. Edwards. Also cherishing his memories are 21 great grandchildren, his devoted niece and nephews Vonda, Leonard, Ernest, Pastor Leander, Jason, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 701 Huey P. Long Avenue, Gretna, LA on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. Lynn Robinson, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery- Gretna, LA.
