ANDERSON SIMMONS, JR.

Anderson “Bubby” Simmons Jr., entered into eternal rest at University Medical on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA.   Anderson graduated from L. B. Landry High School in 1958 and attended Grambling State University for two years after high school.  He served his country in the United States Air Force and was employed with General Electric (GE) and Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for over 30 years. Devoted father  of  Michael T. (Tamyka) Simmons of Cleveland, OH, and the late Ishmael Jerome Simmons. Son of the late Anderson Simmons, Sr., and late Dorothy  Mayo Simmons.  Brother of Lydia S. Murray of Denver, CO., and the late Loretta Simmons Edwards and Stanley Simmons. Grandfather of Tiffany Simmons, Nicole Simmons, Miesha Simmons,  DeAndre Simmons, and Malik. Friend of Charlie Ben and Carol Holliman for their continued support throughout the years, also survived by 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
