ANDERSON CHARLES MASSEY, SR.

Anderson Charles Massey, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest early in the morning on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the blessed age of 100 years, three months, and 14 days old! He was truly blessed and highly favored of God! He was a native of Waterproof, LA, a former resident of Harvey, LA, and presently residing in Cypress, TX. Anderson worked for Standard Supply & Hardware Company, Inc. as a laborer/warehouseman and retired after 40 years of service. He served his country honorably in the military branch of the United States Army in World War II.   He received five Overseas Service Bars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, a Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, and one Service Stripe. His Lapel Button was issued ARS Score on September 2, 1945. Beloved of 64 years to the late Ella Louis Harris Massey.  Devoted father of Missionary Charlotte Ann Harris Massey Mack, Priscilla Ann Harris Massey Clayton, Constance Elaine Massey Johnson, Pastor Ava Marie Massey Richardson, Desarai Chilita Massey Smith and Anderson C. Massey, Jr. Stepfather Mary Catherine Irwin of Baton Rouge, LA, Felton (Jeanine) Ware of Houston, TX, and the late Gertrude Williams. Grandfather of the late Anderson Charles”CJ” Massey, III and Joshua Armon “Josh” Davis. Loving only child of the late Moses Massey and Priscilla Fair Massey. Adored grandson of the late Anderson Charles Massey and Francena Knapper Massey. Father-in -law of Superintendent Walter P. Mack, Jr., Pastor Daniel Clayton, Sr. and the late Pastor Adam L. Richardson. Godfather of Diane Patterson and Malcom Hill. Anderson is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Public Viewing at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST.
