ALFONZA BERRY

Alfonza Berry passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 74. He was a native of MS and a resident of Gretna, LA. Alfonza received his academic education in the Hinds County School System in Jackson, MS. He was employed with Delta Corrosion Company as a pipelayer before pursuing a career as an oyster shucker. Alfonza then became self-employed in lawn care. Beloved husband of 43 years to Leona Berry. Devoted father of Patricia (Marcel), Wendall, Tina (Dwayne), Lynette, and Lamar. Grandfather of Jeremy, Davon Jr, Davian, Tyrique, Kaleel, Asjia, Serenity, and Winter. Great grandfather of Makalya. Son of the late Arthur Berry and River Lee Berry. Brother of Leroy, Billy, Lou Ella, Angela, and the late Charles Hughes. Uncle of the late Charles, Jr. Godfather of Pascha and Charles Jr. Brother -in-law and the late Catherine. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Boynton United Methodist Church are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Boynton United Methodist Church 515 5^th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA. A memorial service will be held at Mt.
