Janice Peterson Franklin entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at Tulane Medical Center. Beloved wife of Ranell Franklin, Jr. Devoted mother of Kayone (LaVar) Franklin-Ford, and Kiran Franklin, Sr. Grandmother of Tylan Green, Tyran Barbain, LaVar Ford, Kiaya and Kiran Franklin, Jr., and Nikki Ford. Daughter of the late Lillian and Arthur Peterson. Sister of Lucille (Nevils) Moore and the late Emelda Barrow, Gertie P. Hebert, Bernadette, Riley, and Arthur Peterson, Lois and Linda Wiliams, and Adrell P. Ariom. Niece of Lula Peterson. Daughter in law of Helen Franklin and the late Ranell Franklin, Sr., also survived by a host of sisters in law, brothers, in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 63 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of West Point Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, Israelites Baptist Church, and neighboring churches. Employees of Associated Catholic Charities, Plaquemines Parish School Board, Passion Orleans Parish School Board, United States Environmental Services, United States Navy, Tulane Medical Center, and L. B. Landry Class of 1967 are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Steve Smith officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery- Gretna, La.
