William Singleton entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Husband of Nellie Gabriel Singleton. Father of William (Kewanna) Singleton, Jr., Cynthia Singleton, Lois Scott, Danielle Singleton, and Angela Singleton. Stepfather of Venice (Bryan) Cooper and the late Karen Battle Torrence. Grandfather of Bria Scott, Jasmine Thomas, Dondre Thomas, William Singleton, III, Bryan Cooper, Jr., Janae Torrence, Nantasia Singleton, Oleetia Todd, and Herbert Todd. Son of Audrey Eskinde Singleton and the late William Van Singleton, Sr. Brother of Wayne (Rita), Don, Ray (Cassandra), Dwight (Shelia), and Melvin Singleton, Elnora Jason, Claudette (Howard) Clark, JoAnn Brown, Elaine (Eugene) Baxter and the late Alvin and Gregory Singleton, and Eartha Cambrice. Preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, also survived by 5 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 70 years a native a New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Hope of Glory Church, New Home Family Worship Center, St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, and neighboring churches. Employees of Jefferson Parish Dept. of Sewerage, City of Gretna, Westwego Post Office, and Lighthouse for the Blind are invited to attend the funeral service at First Free Mission Baptist Church 426 Lamarque St. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Norman N. Francis officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum Westwego, La.
