Leslie James Markey, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 27, 2011. Son of the late Evelyna H. and Rev. Junius Markey, Sr. Father of Leslie J. (Mary) Markey, Jr., Sonya (Carl, Sr.) Raymond, Wendy M. Watkins, and Jason (LeNeshia) Markey. Grandfather of Brandon Markey of San Diego, Ca., Lance (Patricia) Markey, Jada (Ben) Pierre, Carl (Auralia) Raymond, Jr., Eric Raymond, Shayna, Andre, and Carlos Watkins, Jalen and Jayce Markey and the late Jeremy Raymond. Brother of Carl (Zella) Markey, Russell (Betty) Markey, Junius Markey, Jr., Yvonne Williams, Irma Green and the late Stanley Markey. Former husband of Beulah L. Markey, also survived by 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friend. Age: 72 years a native of Luling, La. and a resident of Laplace, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Bell Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Bell Baptist Church 251 Easy St. Luling, La. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Rodney Johnson, Sr. officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
