Mercedes Williams Palmer went home to live with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Devoted wife of Frank Palmer, Sr. Mother of Frank Palmer, Jr. Daughter of the late Enis and Alma Williams. Grandmother of Toinika, Frank, Devantee, Alice, and Mya. Sister of Eula McGee, Rudolph Williams, and the late Barbara Stewart, Eartha Reed, Shirley Mitchell, Lloyd, Enis, Jr., Arthur, and David Williams. Godmother of Meioakia Young and Terrell McCloud. Sister in law of Karl McGee, Frances McCloud, Jennie Cosse, Eugene, Freddie, and Mary Palmer. Special mother like ladies Mildred Cooper, Mary Simms, Clara Batiste, and Bobbi McGee, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 58 years a native of Gibson, La. and a resident of Avondale, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Heavenly Star Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches. Employees of Dave Pharmacy and Ochsner Medical Center are invited to attend funeral service at Heavenly Star Baptist Church 1020 Cohen St. Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Mack Stokes officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Oakville Cemetery-Oakville, La.
