Leonard Bird Jones, Sr. departed this life on Friday, September 16, 2011. Loving father of Toni Jones, Leonard Jones, Jr., Tanzania Jones, Alma Lynell Sanders, and Robyn ONeal. Son of the late Elmore J. Williams, Sr. and Shirley Mae Williams. Brother of Elmore, Jr., Andrew, Paul, Rita, Nicole, Kim, Marie, and Michael Williams, JoAnn Jones, Eugene Lewis, Joanella Jordan, Joseph Jenkins, and the late Toni, Gerald, and Eugene Williams; also survived by 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 58 years a native and resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Bernard Community Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Dillard University and New Orleans Fair Grounds are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Bernard Community Baptist Church, 3938 St Bernard Ave., New Orleans, La. on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
