Irene Stewart Sims, a retired cosmetologist, departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 8:25p.m. at West Jefferson Medical Center. Devoted wife of 45 years, to Willie Sims. Mother of Kevin (Shavone) and Bryant (Kimberly) Sims, and Shawanda (Mack) Turner of St. Francisville, La. Grandmother of twelve. Great grandmother of four. Daughter of Celestine Jasmin Stewart and the late Rev. Morris Stewart, Sr. Sister of Maudry Brown, Clementine (Hilton) Young, Evelina (Jewel) Sam, Verna Mae (Ellau) Sheppard, Amelia (Earl) Donald, Betty (James) Stewart, Merita (Raymond) Williams, Enoch (Darryl) Stewart, and the late Morris, Jr. and Benjamin Stewart. Daughter in law of Pricilla Godchaux. Sister in law of Doug (Gloria) Wells, also survived by a host of other relatives and friend. Age: 69 years a native of Vacherie, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church of New Orleans, Greater Bright Morning Star Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to the funeral service at Greater Bright Morning Star Baptist Church 2418 Louisiana Ave. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
