Ethel Mae (Coonie) Hill Jones entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 12:25p.m. at West Jefferson Medical Center. Devoted and compassionate wife of Edward Joseph Jones, Jr. Mother of Richard, Keith Ray, Gerald Jerome, and Kendall Jones of Marrero, La., Micheal Anthony Jones of Durham, N.C., Lisa J. McDonald and the late Edward Gregory and PatrickTroy. Daughter of the late Nathan and Edna Hill. Sister of Eartha Hill, Geraldine H. Smith, Lillie H. Arlene, Ronald Hill, and the late Martha H. Green, Cheryl H. James, Nathan, Willie, and Veron Hill. Mother in law of David McDonald, Sharon, Elaine, and Nicole Jones. Sister in law of Ann Hill, Irene Hill, Rebecca Jones, Sandra Patterson, Dorothy Wright, Delores Williams, Wilbert, Joseph, and Frank Jones, also survived by 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and many loyal neighbors and lifelong friends. Age: 74 years a native of Reserve, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Pilgrim Baptist Church of Reserve, La, and all neighboring churches. Dr. Robert Cummisky and all staff of SCU and ICU are invited to attend the celebration of life service at Macedonia Baptist Church 1219 Cohen St. Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Albert Mickel officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time a the above named church. Interment: Saint John Memorial Gardens-Laplace, La.
