Laura Smothers Crayton, a loyal and decided employee of Mercy Baptist Hospital for 30 years departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Loving wife of Isiah Crayton, Jr. Mother of Carolyn C. Minor, Laura M. Fournier, Sharon I. Crayton, Isiah Crayton, III, Kevin D. Crayton, Bryan T. Crayton, Izella P. Crayton, Joycelyn B. Beasley, and the late Charles Glenn Smothers. Grandmother of the late Yiasha Anders. Daughter of the late Thomas B. and Inez Smothers, also survived by 22 grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 godchildren, 5 brothers, 5 sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 69 years a native of New Roads, La. and a resident of Baker, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church # 3, Mt. Olivette Baptist Church of Monroe, La. and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Little Zion Baptist Church # 3 441 Wilson Rd.
