Raymond Harris

Raymond Harris, an honorary Westwego Police Captain and Korean Veteran, departed this life on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 8:00a.m. Beloved husband of the late Claudia J. Harris. Loving father of Joseph (Yolanda), Melvin (Rosell), Andrea (John), Raymond and the late Gary Harris. Son of the late Benny Harris and Angella Chase. Brother of Alberta Moody and Angella Watkins; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a lifelong resident of Westwego, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Westwego Police Dept., Christina Ice Service, Jefferson Parish Westbank Street Dept., JoEllen Smith Living Center and Westwego Mayors Office are invited to attend the funeral service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 Fourth St., Westwego, La. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
