Olevia (Laboo) Howard Rogers, a retired nurse with 42 years of service from Metropolitan Development Center, West Jefferson Medical Hospital, and Sara Mayo Hospital went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Beloved wife of Albert Rogers. Mother of Glynis Arden (Kenneth) Rogers, Carlita (Isiah) Curtis, and the late Carl Anthony Rogers. Daughter of the late Rev. Joseph Howard and Elonia Smith Howard. Sister of Essie D. Tyler, Leborah Jones, and Ruby White. Sister in law of Rosetta Hammond, Hazel Davis, Ruby Rogers, Willie Davis, Gladys Tigler, Ethel Rogers, Hattie and Nancy Howard, Isreal Wright, Alexander and Edward Rogers, also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years a native of Gonzales, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion B.C., Second Zion B.C., Shiloh B.C., and all neighboring churches. Employees of John Ehret High School, JPSO, and Jays Trucking Service are invited to attend the wake service at New Zion Baptist Church 1131 Garden Rd. Marrero, La. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 8:00p.m. Rev. Austin Dennis officiating Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10:00a.m. at the above named church.
