Alphonsus Joseph Hawkins

Alphonsus Joseph Hawkins, age 46, of Avondale, Louisiana, departed this life on Friday, April 13, 2012. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, December 28, 1965. He was a graduate of L. B. Landry Senior High School. He attended the University of New Orleans where he majored in engineering. Alphonsus was a security officer at the Chevron Chemical Refinery in Belle Chase, Louisiana. He was employed by Bayou State Security, Incorporated. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching movies, cooking gourmet meals, caring for his home and spending time with family. Alphonsus is survived and by his children Janelle Jones and Raynell Jones of St. Louis Missouri, Amy Egana of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his grandchildren, Kyra Smith and Arielle Jones of St. Louis, Missouri, his mother Laverna Hawkins of River Ridge, Louisiana, his step-father, Clifford Robbins, III of Omaha, Nebraska, his sisters Virgin Davis (Damon) of LaPlace, Louisiana, and Daisy Harrison (Jonas) of River Ridge, Louisiana. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Alphonsus was loved by many. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, located at 455 Ames Boulevard in Marrero, LA, Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10 A.M. Visitation will also be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale, LA.
