Minister Joseph (Joe) Helton a minister by profession passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Father of Gwendolyn Helton Kennedy. Son of the late George Helton and Ruth Brown Helton. Brother of Louis (Sharan), Steve, and Lionel Helton, Loretta (Jimel) Johnson, Evelyn (Leonard, Sr.) Young, Annette Hagan, Darlene (David, Jr.) Torry, Melody Batiste and the late Phillip Helton, Sr., also survived by 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 66 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a lifelong resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Little Zion Baptist Church, and surrounding churches are invited to attend the funeral services at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd.
