Johnny J. Walker, Sr. departed this life at Belle Vie Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 8:00a.m. Husband of the late Olga C. Walker. Father of Johnny (Diane) Walker, Jr. and Troy A. Walker. Grandfather of Johnny III, Lakisha, and Dianna Walker, Tamira Harper, Tacarra Charles, Troy Parker, Melika Scott, Kayshon Jason, Trey Johnnie Walker, and Maiya Walker. Great grandfather of Tielan, Marvin, and Amir. Son of the late Joseph Walker, Sr. and Irene Walker. Brother of Warren, Alfred (Jessie), Clevon (Loretta), Horace (Ingrid) Walker, and Mary Walker and the late Rev. Joseph (Doris) Walker, Jr., Jack (Diane) Walker, Wilbert Walker, and Dorothy Johnson Godfather of Denetra and JoMarie. Brother in law of Nolan Johnson and the late Shirley Walker, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 78 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star B.C., New Hope B.C. 1870 Lasalle St., Second Zion B.C., and all neighboring churches. Employees of Freeport-McMoRan and Ray Bryant Nissan are invited to attend the funeral services at Morning Star Baptist Church 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, La. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Thomas Brown, Jr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Bright Star Cemetery-Marrero, La.
