Freddie Chicken Man Roberts, a retired employee of Oakwood Center, departed this life at Opelousas Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Betty Benn Roberts. Loving father of Judy Roberts (Harold) Lewis, Freddie (Annette) Robert, Jr., Ernest (Inger) Roberts, Betty Roberts, Leroy (Linda) Benn, Patricia (Albert) Benn and the late Kermit Roberts and Marsha Benn. Son of the late Freddie Roberts and Julia Struggs; also survived by 30 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 83 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Algiers, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Fischer Community Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Ave. Algiers, La. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
