Gertrude C. Woods

Gertrude Cecile Woods (nee Ferdinand) peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Fort Washington Medical Center in Fort Washington Maryland. Mrs. Woods was a lifetime member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Mother of Clifford L. (Beverly A. Babin) Woods, Jr. Grandmother of Allyson K. Woods Masembwa and Sean L. (Martina Carpenter) Woods. Great grandmother of Leila J. Woods. Daughter of the late Wilson Ferdinand and Olivia Joseph Ferdinand. Devoted sister of Olivia Mae Walker, and the late Myrtle Castillion, Ollie Nelson, Rose M. Jackson, John O. Ferdinand and Nevella Verrett. Devoted Sister in law of Rita Ferdinand, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 89 years a native of St. James Parish, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. until her move to Accokeek, Maryland in recent months. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
