Yvonne Butler McPherson

Yvonne Butler McPherson, a retired assistant principle of John Ehret High School, departed this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a graduate of Xavier University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Education and Master's in School Administration. Mrs. McPherson was a former teacher of Lincoln High School and a former member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the United Methodist Auxiliary, the usher board, director of vacation bible school, parish staff member and chaired numerous fund raisers. One of her most memorable experiences was when she introduced former President Bill Clinton at a recreation facility dedication in the Walkertown area of Marrero, La. Beloved wife of Isaac McPherson Sr. Devoted mother of Isaac McPherson Jr. Daughter of the late Joshua L. Butler, Sr. and Eva Smith Butler. Sister of the late Ethel Mae Butler Green Gilliam and Joshua L. Butler Jr.; also survived by 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 79 Years a native and resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish School Board, and former staff and students of Lincoln and John Ehret High Schools are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Rev.
