Eddie Miller, a retired porter, went home to his heavenly father on Sunday, October 10, 2010. He was surrounded by his devoted sister, Velma M. Hills-Davis, and niece, Paulette D. Baker. Son of the late Lawrence Miller, Sr. and Pauline Allen Miller. Brother of Viola M. Summers. Velma M. Hills- Davis, and the late Lawrence, Jr., Alvin, Ulis, Willie, Espy, Gladys and Leona Miller, Beatrice M. Cornin and Marian M. Higgins; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Miller worked as a porter for over 60 years at various stores on Canal Street. His career started at W.T. Grants and he retired from Rainbow Clothing in 2005. He was a loving quite man that lived a fulfilling life and will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to have him in their lives. Age: 85 years a native and resident of Ironton, La. Relatives and friends of the family also, pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 133 Bradish St., Ironton, La. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
