Aleta Ann Dixon Swift departed this life on Friday September 29, 2010 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank . Wife of Jesse Swift. Mother of Louis Dixon, Sr., Kimberly Swift-Bright, Javelin Swift "Anderson, and the late Beblia Dxon. Adopted mother Yolanda Franklin-Brooks. Grandmother of Gavin Wayne Swift, Louis Dixon, Jr., Joseph Michael Bright, Drew Quincy Anderson, Bailey Barnes, Jordain Franklin, and Mariah Bright. Daughter of the late Andrew Dixon, Sr. and Ophelia Oneal Dixon. Sister of John Dixon, Hazel Dixon, Marie Antoinette Dixon Smith, and the late James Jimmy Dixon, Andrew Joseph Dixon, Jr., and Jude Thadius Dixon. Mother in law of Cheryl Hunter, Irvin Isreal Anderson, Jr., Joseph Bright, and Gregory Brooks. Daughter in law of the late Calvin and Pearl Swift. Sister in law of Sabrina Minor, Gwen, Eltray, Beverly, Suzanne, Barbara Nell, and Vera Dixon, Calvin, Alton, Isreal, Cleveland, and Issac Swift, Walter Brown, Sr., and Emanuel Smith, and the late Amy Dixon. Godmother of Calvin Wayne Roberts, Sherrie, and Sylvon Minor, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 65 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of South Jefferson Hospital, Sara Mayo Hospital and members of Westside Missionary Baptist Association Women Ministry are invited to attend the funeral service at Macedonia Baptist Church 1219 Cohen Ave. Marrero, La. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Albert Mickel officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Christian Social Cemetery-Gretna, La.
