Verna Francis Phipps

Verna Francis Phipps departed this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved wife of 48 years to the late Randolph Claudius Phipps. Mother of Melvin (Marilyn), Stephanie (Morris), Winston (Lynette), and Peter (Evangeline). Daughter of the late Enid and Edward Francis. Sister of Patricia, Lynette, Arnold, and Marvin, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 68 years a native San Fernando Trinidad, and a resident of Marrero, La. Mrs. Phipps moved to the United States in 1968 and became a citizen in 1970. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
